The real value of a website like idp5.org is in sharing information about your county Democrats with the other Dems in your county -- and with the rest of us in the 5th district. idp5.org is your website.

Most county Democrats don't have their own website -- so use OUR website to make your page YOUR website. Proudly show what you are doing, and use it to as a central "bulletin board" for the Democrats in your area. There is no charge to your local Democratic party for this website. The 5th District Democratic Party is paying for this, and the website is designed and maintained by volunteers (two former county chairs.)

Here are the types of things you should consider putting on your county's page at idp5.org:

• Calendar of Events for upcoming events
      Central committee meetings
      Fundraisers
      County Fairs
   
• Contact Lists of the officers of your county Democrats.
      Name, address, phone and email addresses of your chair, vice, treasurer, secretary
      Name, address, phone and email addresses of your central committee members
   
• Photos of your events
      Ask for photos taken at your caucuses and fund raisers
      Show off your booth at the county fair
      Pictures of your entry in local parades
   
• Candidate information for your local Democrats
      Candidates for county supervisor
      Sheriff
      County courthouse democrats
      Iowa House and Senate candidates
   
• Links to other websites you think are interesting or just fun
   
• ANYTHING ELSE you think will make a better website for YOUR local Democrats.

How to submit your information to the website:

You can make it as easy as typing up an email and sending it to webmaster@idp5.org or you can make it as complex as you wish. All of the editing and design of this website is done with Microsoft software (FrontPage), and we can easily include anything you send us in most electronic formats.

You can email us your information in these formats:

• Microsoft Word document (or most any text file)
• Excel spreadsheet
• Adobe Acrobat PDF files
• Microsoft Publisher pages
• Web pages in html format
• Photos in jpg, gif, or Photoshop format

We will do our best to take your stuff and turn it into something useful for your county. Keep in mind that there are a couple of busy volunteers doing the work who will get it online as quickly as possible.
