David Dawson

David Dawson - IA House District 1

Born and raised in northwest Iowa, David grew up in the small town of Washta, Iowa, which is about 40 miles east of Sioux City. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1996 with degrees in Sociology and Psychology, and went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1999.

In 2002, David moved to Sioux City to become a prosecutor in the Juvenile Division of the Woodbury County Attorney's Office. There, he prosecuted gang members, sex offenders, and other juvenile delinquents. In 2006 & 2007 he argued two cases before the Iowa Supreme Court to help secure equal treatment of children in juvenile cases. He has served on state and local committees dedicated to improving child welfare, delinquency, and juvenile court laws and policies. In 2010, David started his own law office in Sioux City where he continues to advocate for children.

David has been active with the Woodbury County Democratic Party, and from 2008 to 2010 served as the Finance Chair.

Michael Reasoner

Michael Reasoner - IA House District 95 (Incumbent)

Michael Reasoner has represented Iowa House District 95 since 2003. He currently serves on the Administration and Rules committee, the Agriculture committee, the Commerce committee and the Ways and Means committee.

His political experience includes serving as an Assistant Minority Leader in the Iowa House and serving as Union County Supervisor.

Reasoner received his BA and JD from Creighton University.

Paul Shomshor

Paul Shomshor - IA House District 100 (Incumbent)

Paul Shomshor, Jr., has represented Iowa House District 100 since 2003 when he was elected in a special election. He currently serves on the Commerce committee, the State Government committee and the Ways and Means committee, which he chairs.

Rep. Shomshor also serves on the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee. His prior political experience includes serving on the Council Bluffs City Council from 1997-2001.

He received his BA and MA from Baylor University.
