Lamoni's 8th Annual Civil War Days Residents of Lamoni in Decatur County, Iowa, will hold their 8th Annual Civil War Days on Labor Day Weekend, Sept. 3 - 5. The Reenactment & Living History Festival is a well-established, regional cultural event in southern Iowa and northern Missouri that presents a multi-faceted, period-authentic representation of the American Civil War era. Cass County Democrats to Set up Campaign Headquarters The Cass County Dems will gather Saturday and Sunday to set up the new campaign headquarters located in Atlantic at 511 Chestnut. They plan to be open daily -- M-F from 10 AM to 5 PM. They will be open Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 PM through Election Day, contingent on adequately staffed headquarters. 33rd Harkin Steak Fry US Senator Tom Harkin will hold his 33rd Harkin Steak Fry on Sunday, September 12, from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Warren County Fairgrounds in Indianola. Tickets for the Steak Fry are $30 per person and $15 for students, and may be purchased online at www.tomharkin.com or by calling (515) 277-9966. Kid's meal tickets are $5 for children ages 5 - 10 and are available at the gate the day of the event.
